ABOUT ME

Counsellor MBACP, Accredited by BACP Registered

Hello and a warm welcome to my page

My name is Davina Dobbs. I am a Qualified Accredited  Integrative Counsellor and a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I understand that life can sometimes feel challenging, and it can take only one more thing to knock you off balance emotionally and mentally! But I want to remind you that it is OK to not be OK!

Time in Counselling was founded to help support your journey called ‘life’. I have made it my mission is to walk alongside you as you navigate through the uncertainties and different challenges of life. I have an ongoing interest in working with women from the BME community. In my years of experience, I noticed the impact that misconception, stigma, and myths have played on BME women accessing counselling.

Whilst, I believe that knowledge is important to help others. I also understand the intricacy that culture, race, gender, ethnicity, beliefs and spirituality can have on an individual. My Intercultural therapeutic approach involves focusing on the inner workings of the client's subjective experience that relates specifically to who they are as an individual. As well as understanding the transparency behind having first-hand experiences, as I believe that's where the true connection can blossom.

I have been able to walk alongside and work with many different people from different walks of life at disparate stages of their life. My clinical experience is within the NHS-IAPT, communities, charities, and private counselling settings. I specialise in abuse-related concerns, sexual abuse, trauma-related concerns, and relationship difficulties. Along with having experienced in psychological difficult
ies such as depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, isolation and many more.

It’s time to take off that 'superwoman mask', put your load down, and remove all labels. It is time to set some time aside for you, time to take some Time In!
